How to set up IPTV on Apple TV (Smarters Player Lite)

Apple TV makes a great IPTV device, but unlike Android or Fire TV it does not allow sideloading — every app must come from the official tvOS App Store. The most widely used player is Smarters Player Lite (the Apple TV version of IPTV Smarters Pro). This guide walks you through installing it and adding your maxco. subscription.

What you'll need

• An Apple TV HD or Apple TV 4K with tvOS up to date
• An active maxco. subscription
• Your maxco. login details: Server URL, Username, and Password (Xtream Codes), or your M3U URL
• A stable internet connection (wired Ethernet recommended for 4K)

Step 1 — Install the app

1. On your Apple TV, open the App Store.
2. Search for "Smarters Player Lite" (you can also try "IPTV Smarters").
3. Select the app and click Get / Download to install it.
4. Once installed, open the app and accept the terms if prompted.

Step 2 — Add your maxco. account (Xtream Codes — recommended)

1. On the first screen, select Add New User (or the + button).
2. Choose Login with Xtream Codes API.
3. Enter a Name (a label such as "maxco."), your Username, your Password, and the Server URL exactly as provided (include http:// or https:// and the port if given).
4. Select Add User.
5. The app authenticates and loads your channels, movies and series automatically.

Tip: Xtream Codes is recommended over M3U on Apple TV — it loads Live TV, VOD, Series and EPG in one step, and the short credentials are far easier to type with the Apple TV remote.

Alternative — M3U URL

1. On the Add User screen, choose Load Your Playlist or File/URL.
2. Enter a Playlist Name and paste your maxco. M3U URL.
3. Select Add User and wait for the playlist to load (this can take a little longer than Xtream Codes).

Step 3 — Start watching

After syncing, you'll see Live TV, Movies, and Series sections. Select any channel to begin streaming.

Troubleshooting

• "Authentication failed": Re-check your Server URL, Username and Password for typos or extra spaces. Confirm your maxco. subscription is active.
• Wrong EPG times: Set your correct time zone in the app's settings, and make sure your Apple TV's Date & Time is set to Automatic.
• Buffering: Use wired Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi, restart the app, and test another channel to rule out a single-stream issue.
• App not in your region's App Store: Search both "Smarters Player Lite" and "IPTV Smarters"; if unavailable, any tvOS IPTV player that supports Xtream Codes / M3U works with the same steps.
